We’re excited to announce that registration is now open for our next Agile Fluency® Game Facilitators’ Workshop!
The Agile Fluency Game is a physical board game focusing on the experience of team members using agile practices and approaches. It was developed so that experiments that occur in game play lead to new insights about your real-world options. Game players learn about the benefits and trade-offs of adopting agile practices.
Standups offer the most benefit when they are kept brief (30-60 seconds per team member) and to the point––sustaining communication about the state of the work. It helps when team members know the questions ahead of time and come prepared to answer them succinctly.
Last month we talked about resilience - what it is and where it comes from. Because that newsletter prompted more comments and feedback than we have ever had to any newsletter, we decided to explore the topic a bit more. So now let’s proceed with resilience redux…
Trying to save others from the discomfort we’ve experienced is a worthy impulse. When the pain we are trying to help them avoid is embarrassment, physical harm, disappointment or a lot of wasted effort, we mean well. However, too often we communicate the message in a way that is difficult to hear.
Today there are an almost overwhelming number of available choices for coaching. Not only are there many individuals coming from vastly different backgrounds who serve as coaches, there are multiple views and models of what coaching is and is not.

Does your organization utilize retrospectives as part of its project management goals? If not, here are some simple...
As part of my commitment to my own professional development, a few months ago I attended a certification training program on effective practices in organizational change and leadership development. So when I heard that the Human Systems Dynamics Institute was bringing its HSDP Certification Training Program to Portland in January 2012, I wanted to share my experiences and how the HSD methodology has positively impacted my practice and my work with my clients.
